Boeing Launches New 747-8 Family

Just after BA's chief said that he is interested in getting the 747 Advanced. Boeing announces the launch of the 747-8.

Cargolux has ordered 10 747-8 for delivery in third-quarter 2009 and Nippon Cargo Airlines has ordered eight 747-8 Freighters for delivery in fourth-quarter 2009.

GE's 787-based GEnx engines will power the -8 and it feature chevrons on the engine exhaust ducts similar to the 787.
