Russia's Aeroflot Airbus lands in Prague after hijack attempt

An Aeroflot A320 made an emergency landing at Prague's airport shortly before 11 a.m. after a man with Slavic appearances attempted to hijack the aircraft.

The flight took off from Moscow en route to Geneva with more than 100 passengers on board.

Aeroflot's air security service said the suspected hijacker had been arrested and the Russian Embassy in the Czech Republic said the Czech police were questioning the suspect.

Itar-Tass however reported that the man was drunk and provoked a fight with two other passengers. He then threatened to damage the plane and wants the route changed.
